Apply to become an egg donor!

Applying to become an egg donor is very easy! Answer three short questions that determine whether you can proceed with the process and fill out a more detailed health declaration that is then sent to us digitally. You can also call us every weekday between 9 am and 5 pm on 076-941 74 00 - it's easy to reach us!
Free health check
One advantage of becoming an egg donor is that you receive a thorough health check, which means that in addition to a general medical examination, you are tested for infectious diseases and the most common hereditary genetic diseases. A fertility analysis is also done and you then receive an estimate of your reproductive ability. This is of course free of charge.
Egg donor application
To become an egg donor, both you and your immediate family must be healthy. There is a wide range of criteria that must be met in order to become a donor. Among other things, you cannot have diagnoses such as ADHD, ADD, autism or other psychosocial diagnoses. Egg donors must also not be on ongoing antidepressant medication. When you become an egg donor, you will receive a health check on your own fertility, and you will be compensated with 12,100 SEK to compensate you for your time, travel and lost income while you are with us.

How it Works
Fertility Assessment
If a couple has been trying to conceive for one year (or 6 months if the woman is older than 35), it's appropriate to seek help. The first step is to undergo a fertility assessment. This assessment analyzes the woman's ovarian capacity through a vaginal ultrasound and AMH blood test, as well as the man's sperm count and quality. The most suitable treatment option is discussed with each couple, considering factors such as the duration of infertility, underlying causes, and the woman's age.
First Consultation
During the initial doctor's visit, a comprehensive review of your fertility assessment is conducted, including factors such as the woman's age, cause of infertility, previous treatments, lifestyle factors, and medical history. A gynecological examination with an ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries is also performed, and additional tests may be recommended if needed. Your future treatment plan is also discussed at this stage.
Hormone Stimulation
Treatment begins with hormone stimulation, planned and initiated with one of our midwives or nurses. The woman is stimulated with endogenous hormones (FSH) to encourage multiple follicles to grow. Daily injections start a few days into the menstrual cycle, which are easy to self-administer. After about 5-6 days of injections, an additional medication is given to prevent premature ovulation. The stimulation is closely monitored with ultrasounds, and when the follicles reach sufficient size, an injection is given to mature the eggs for fertilization. This process takes about two weeks.
Egg Retrieval and Fertilization
Eggs are retrieved from the woman's ovaries using vaginal ultrasound guidance, and the man provides a sperm sample that is prepared to select the best sperm. If the man has a good sperm count with good motility, standard IVF is performed where sperm and eggs are placed together in a dish for natural fertilization. In cases of reduced sperm quality, microinjection (ICSI) is performed.
Embryo Transfer
After 2-5 days, a fertilized egg (embryo) is transferred to the woman's uterus via a thin catheter inserted through the cervix. Surplus embryos of good quality can be cryopreserved for future use.
How We Choose Egg Donors
Egg quality
Eggs that are to be able to result in pregnancy must be of high quality. Many factors determine the quality of the egg, but the most important circumstance is the woman's age. As a donor, you must be between 23 and 35 years old. You need to be healthy, not smoke, have a BMI below 32 and not take medication regularly. Before you are approved as a donor, we examine you, among other things, using blood tests to predict the likelihood of high quality eggs.
If you have any further questions, you are always welcome to contact us via the contact form or telephone.

Egg Bank Frequently Asked Questions
A doctor will be the first person that you will see.
Of course.
The first step is for you to come in for an advanced ultrasound scan and a virtual consultation. The first appointment is the scan; this is an internal scan with an advanced 3D Doppler scanner and will help us assess the blood flow in the ovaries, follicles and womb as well as checking ovarian reserve. We perform a 3D scan to assess the cavity of the womb to rule out any problems for implantation. They will also check for obstructions such as cysts and polyps. Following on from the scan you will have your virtual consultation where the doctor will go through the results and your medical history and devise a personalised treatment plan for you based on these.
Do I have to come for the scan on a particular day of my cycle?
No, you can come for the scan on any day of the cycle, including during your period if you are comfortable with this - it doesn’t make any difference from the scanning point of view.
Do I have to have the scan done again if I’ve had one elsewhere?
We request that every patient have a scan within 3 months before starting any treatment. It is at the doctor’s discretion whether they will accept a scan from another clinic; however most doctors prefer to have a scan performed at CREATE because our doctors have been highly trained in scanning methods and will be able to assess multiple aspects of your fertility. Our scanners are 3D Doppler scanners and look at the blood flow in the ovaries and womb as well as checking ovarian reserve.
Should I bring anything with me?
If you have medical notes, from previous treatment for example, you can send copies of these to us in advance to be added to your file. Otherwise you do not need to bring anything with you.
