Livio Fertility Clinic in Sophiahemmet
The IVF group at Sophiahemmet has been a pioneer in fertility investigation and treatment of infertility since 1984. With experience and personal dedication, we support and guide couples throughout the treatment process to achieve the dream of a long-awaited child.

No referral is required to visit us. Our goal is to make your process of starting investigation and treatment both smooth and easy. We perform fertility investigations and treatments both privately and through a care choice agreement with Region Stockholm, which means that the high-cost card is valid. Our cozy premises are designed to offer a safe and professional environment where you are taken care of by our competent and empathetic team. For couples in treatment, we are open every day of the week including holidays. Closed only for a short period during Christmas and summer. Reception is one of the most active in Stockholm. We carry out over 900 IVF treatments and 600 transfers of frozen embryos each year.
Why choose our Livio Sophiahemmet Fertility Clinic?
Welcome to the IVF group at Sophiahemmet. We are a fertility clinic with roots dating back to 1984. Our experienced team of gynecologists, embryologists, midwives and nurses strive to offer high-quality care. We perform fertility investigations and treatments both privately and through a care selection agreement with Region Stockholm. With over 900 IVF treatments and 600 transfers of frozen embryos each year, we are one of the most active clinics in Stockholm. In 1978, the world's first child was born after IVF treatment (in vitro fertilization) in England. This paved the way for a groundbreaking method in reproductive medicine. Scientist Robert Edwards was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2010 for his crucial role in the development of IVF. In 1982, the first child was born after IVF treatment in Sweden. The IVF group at Sophiahemmet was founded in 1984. We were the first private IVF clinic in the Nordic countries. The clinic has continued to develop and has been part of the Livio Group since 2018. The Livio Group includes nine private fertility clinics in Sweden, Norway and Iceland. Developments in IVF have accelerated significantly and made great progress. The method has developed enormously, enabling IVF treatment to be offered to a wider patient group while at the same time making the treatment process itself significantly easier for patients. These advances have led to gradual improvements in results and created increased accessibility to fertility treatments, which has made IVF increasingly common. Globally, over 10 million children have been born as a result of IVF treatments. In Sweden, more than 5,000 children are born annually after IVF treatments, which clearly demonstrates the success and acceptance of the method in the country.

About Sophiahemmet
In 1884, Queen Sophia started training for nurses with the aim of modernizing and improving healthcare in Sweden. Due to a lack of functional workplaces where the Sophia sisters could practice their skills, Sophiahemmet Hospital was built and inaugurated on Valhallavägen in Stockholm in 1889. Queen Sophia's vision of good and contemporary care for people from all social classes is still guiding today - Sophiahemmet's purpose remains to promote good nursing by conducting education and healthcare and supporting patient-centered research. The brand is strong and associated with high quality. A quality that permeates both education and healthcare to ensure safe and secure care.

Within the Livio group, we strive to maintain as consistent pricing as possible, but the varying conditions at different clinics may sometimes result in slight price differences from clinic to clinic. Please feel free to consult us, and we will guide you!
By completing this form you agree to be kept up to date with news, events, relevant research and promotions from Livio.

Your funding options
Many of our treatments can be offered with public funding. For regionally funded treatment, there are certain requirements such as the age of the woman and man (may vary between regions), that the couple does not have children together previously, that the man or woman is not sterilized or that the woman is not underweight or overweight (regions may have different BMI limits). If the couple or woman is entitled to regionally funded care, treatment can also take place at private clinics that have agreements.
In collaboration with Human Finans, Livio offers the possibility for advantageous loans and financing of your fertility treatment. For example, it is possible to take an interest-free loan for an IVF treatment and split the payment over 6 or 12 months.
